It has been raining for almost 24 hours in my little town. Last night’s thunderstorm has relaxed into a soothing drizzle and the temperature is just about perfect. It feels like Autumn has arrived.
This is my favorite time of year for so many reasons, but what I get most excited about is the explosion of fall colors. I took these pictures last year and I have been looking at them over and over again these past few weeks, wishing for the appearance of those colors again.
The vineyards are my favorite, with their leaves turning reds and yellows, and the leftover grapes turning a deep purple.
This is also the season of the pomegranate. Have you ever heard the myth of Persephone and the pomegranate seeds? Every time I eat a pomegranate I think of Persephone.
If the rain continues all day I think I might light up the fireplace and and have some mulled wine. I hope everyone is staying warm and dry!
