It’s Alfred Hitchcock Day!
I have no idea why March 12th is Alfred Hitchcock day (I even spent a solid 30 seconds doing a little google research and everything!)
Here is my sad confession: I have never actually seen a Hitchcock movie. I know, totally unacceptable. So in honor of this strange holiday, I will be curling up in bed to watch Rear Window.
So what is your favorite Hitchcock movie, or are you like me and totally outside the know on Hitchcock?
Rear Window is the only one I have seen, it’s a dirty confession, I did really enjoy it and I don’t know why I haven’t gone through his back catalogue. I may have to look them up seeing as what day it is.
I have also heard Rebecca is very good, it is going to be my second Hitchcock film!
My favorite Hitchcock film is “the Birds”; not his best- that would be “Rear Window” nor his most entertaining- that would be “North by Northwest”. I enjoy “The Birds” because it’s Hitchcock’s most misunderstood film and also the one in which he takes the fullest advantage of manipulating his audience- not unlike “Funny Games” only decades earlier.
You are the second person to say “The Birds” is not his best, I always assumed it was since it is so famous.
oooooooo. Good good movie!
So far, I think my favorite suspense/thriller of all time is Misery, not Hitchcock, but keeps me on the edge of my seat whenever I watch it!
The only Hitchcock movies I’ve ever seen are Psycho and Vertigo.
I saw the Vince Vaughn version of Psycho, but not the original.
There’s a Vince Vaughn version. I need to watch that. Let me know when you’re in MD…we have cupcakes to eat.
