35 Before 35

  1. Become fluent in Italian
  2. Read War and Peace
  3. Go Paragliding
  4. Learn to ski and/or snowboard (any level of proficiency will count as mission success)
  5. Run a half marathon (I almost wrote ‘full marathon’,  but seriously, I have a lot on my plate if I want to finish this list by 35, I really don’t have the time to run that extra 13.1 miles)
  6. Master the art of the pull-up (this has been a New Year’s resolution several years running, still no dice)
  7. Windsurf
  8. Hike Mt. Kilimanjaro
  9. Kiss a handsome man on top of the Eiffel Tower
  10. Drink camel milk
  11. Hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim
  12. Get certified as an advanced diver
  13. Visit Europe’s five microstates
    Vatican City
    San Marino
    – Liechtenstein
    – Malta
    – Monaco
  14. Make my own cheese
  15. Hike the Zugspitze
  16. Learn to filet a fish
  17. Pet a live alligator
  18. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland
  19. Watch an opera written by an Italian composer in Italy
  20. Learn to make gluten free gnocchi
  21. Visit the Valley of the Temples in Sicily
  22. Eat pizza in Naples (I expect to be doubled over in pain after this, but I don’t care)
  23. Swim in the Blue Grotto
  24. Brine my own olives
  25. Visit The Last Supper in Milan
  26. Kayak the Fjords in Norway
  27. Eat an authentic French meal in France
  28. Visit the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland
  29. Climb to the top of St. Peter’s Basilica
  30. Drink Ouzo in Greece
  31. Go on Safari
  32. Perfect Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon
  33. Visit the Veiled Vestal Virgin statue
  34. Make my own Lemoncello
  35. Ride an elephant

      There was discussion about taking care of #18 next month, but I think I am going to have to wait till next year. Now to find some (gluten free) green beer in Italy!

      Thanks Andrew! I have considered watching the movie version first so I don’t get lost, but that kind of feels like cheating!

    Have you heard of Shauna Ahern (Gluten Free Girl http://www.glutenfreegirl.com)? She has all sorts of gluten-free recipes on her site, along with a book from a few years ago and a new cookbook coming out this year, I think. She might have a gluten-free gnocchi recipe.
